2017 KFC Valentine’s Night Race

Get your hearts racing for the love-themed 10km run of the year at the KFC Valentine’s Night Race on 10 February at Randburg Harriers.

Bring your special someone along for what promises to be a great evening of fun and entertainment.

Randburg Harriers public relations manager, Zoe Brentano-Murphy said, “The KFC Valentine’s Night Race brings the local community together and creates an amazing vibe between residents, runners, local businesses and Joburg Metro.”

Every year you can see residents on the route, ready to cheer on the crowds as they run and walk past. The race benefits athletes of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. It is a testing course where seasoned athletes can test themselves and it is also a fun social event where anyone new to the running scene will be able to bring family and friends along while they begin their fitness journey.

The race begins at 7pm and participants have until about 9.30pm to complete the 10km. Online and shop entries close 4 February. Shop entries can be found at Sweatshop (Fourways, Dunkeld and Southdowns) and Run Away Sport (Pretoria).

“This year we are expecting more people than previous years as the popularity of fitness increases. There is also better organisation and more spot prizes to be won for dressing up,” added Brentano-Murphy.

Roads and Areas Affected: Republic Road, between Malibongwe Drive and Silver Pine Avenue will be closed between 6.50pm and 7.20pm; Silver Pine Avenue, between Republic Road and Aimee Street will be affected; roads within the Robin Hills area and Moret will be the most affected.
