Randburg Square Shopping Centre recently sponsored the Randburg Association Football Club’s senior division for the 2015/2016 season.
Randburg Football Club – whose seniors participate in the highest amateur league in Gauteng – has excelled in the 2016 season.
Manager, Kevin Mudie explained, “In February this year the 1st team won the Top 8 competition, and on 17 September, both teams [1st and reserves] won their respective leagues. This now means the teams have won their leagues for the last three years in a row, an incredible achievement for the club.”
Both the 1st team and the reserve team contested their respective Seniors Cup finals on 24 September. The reserve team managed to win their game 1–0 and the 1st team, unfortunately, lost 2–1 to Luso Africa in a nail-biting finish to the season.
Marketing manager for Randburg Square, Dean Campbell said, “Our objective was to get together with businesses and clubs in our immediate area and the strategic fit with the soccer club was the perfect match as both brands pride themselves on offering the highest standards in our district. We look forward to growing with the soccer club in the future,” said an excited Campbell.
