The tournament is said to boast some of the best U19 and U25 bowlers. It attracted bowlers from all of the districts in the country and supported the argument that bowls is not an old person’s sport.

Club president, Ray Turner, concluded that this achievement did not come overnight. “Randburg Bowls Club has been actively attracting younger bowlers and newer bowlers of all ages to the club for a number of years. Any aspirant bowler of any age is welcome – our age range is from 10 to the 80s. We have become a young vibrant club that caters for all ages.”
