Passionate about fitness
DOUGLASDALE – Marcelle Collison aims to promote a healthy lifestyle that promotes a great way of life.
Marcelle Collison shows us exactly what a positive mind and a great, healthy lifestyle can accomplish through dedication and hard work. The figure athlete excels at everything she puts her mind to.
Collison was introduced to the fitness industry by her father who not only owned a gym, but also trained her after school. The avid athlete started competing in 2012 and had her debut at the South African championships where she attained her first title, walking away with a win. She continued her winning streak again in 2015 when she won at the IFBB South African Champions, where she competes as figure girl. One of many successes to date is that she will now be sponsored by Scientific Sport Nutrition (SSN), making her the first woman to ever be sponsored by the brand.
She is currently working hard with her coach Andrew Hudson in preparing for the Arnalds which will take place from 27 to 29 May. One of her biggest pursuits is obtaining the Pro-Card. This would mean that she would only compete overseas and would then be seen as a professional.
The inspiring figure athlete said that she is passionate about fitness and is happy to see that more and more people are being bitten by the fitness bug. She aims to motivate women to become the best that they can be through use of their own power.
“Women have so much power, and I think that once that power is recognised, it spreads through everything you do,” said Collison. “You just need to find the balance, making sure you are healthy so that those around feel motivated to do the same.”
Collison also added that she achieved her South African colours for body building. She further divulged that she had always been shy and as a way to break from that, she wanted to do something that would push her out of her comfort zone.
She concluded that you should never limit yourself and that you should have the drive and make goals with the intention to work toward them.
