MALANSHOF – Diggers Rugby Club thrashes competition in the fixtures against Wes Wits Rugby Club.
Circa Diggers, one of the rugby clubs in Randburg, competed in a fixture against Wes Wits at the Circa Diggers Rugby Club in Malanshof on 11 July.
The theme for the day was ‘Wives and Girlfriends’ (WAGS) which is a term coined to collectively name the supporting families of the players.
“We are trying to bring the culture of family into the Randburg Sports Complex,” said Circa Diggers Club captain Marc Baker.
The Circa Diggers first team captain Andrew Collison added, “Diggers hopes to have more families at our events. The club will be developing a family area as well as enhancing the juniors rugby side.”
Circa Diggers totally annihilated Wes Wits, a club from Carletonville, in the three matches.
“It is great to play another club that is so passionate about the sport, today rugby wins,” said Collison.
The final results were:
•U20’s Circa Diggers first team beat Wes Wits 29–10
• U20’s Circa Diggers second team beat Wes Wits 59–17
•In the final fixture of the day the Circa Diggers first team beat West Wes First team 64–7.
