Life Members Memorial Tournament bowling spectacle

BOSKRUIN – Bowlers from across Gauteng showed off their bowling skills at the Life Members Memorial Tournament at the Randburg Bowls Club on 25 and 26 April.

The Randburg Bowls Club hosted their esteemed Life Members Memorial Tournament which attracted bowlers from across Gauteng on 25 and 26 April. Twenty-four teams from across the province competed in the much anticipated tournament. The event, which has become one of the exciting highlights on the bowling calendar, has been running for three years. The tournament also gave bowlers the opportunity to compete for the prize money of R13 000. It was particularly exciting for club members as they made it their mandate to raise funds for the women’s team to compete in the upcoming national games in May. “We are raising funds for our ladies to participate in the nationals, which is happening in Port Elizabeth this year, “said Laurie Stafford, the president of the Randburg Bowls Club.

Stafford concluded, “The two day game has been a great success. Everybody enjoyed it and it has been both fun and competitive.”
