Delta Dash Endurance Challenge

BLAIRGOWRIE – One of Johannesburg’s growing sporting events is back on the calendar this year – the Delta Dash Endurance Challenge.

The six-hour Delta Dash Endurance Challenge mountain bike race takes place on 18 April, at Delta Park School AND Delta Park.

A safe, green haven for mountain bikers, Delta Park offers 13 hectares of grassland and woodland to explore, while the school sports fields provide the perfect viewpoint from which to follow the racing, watch team changeovers and enjoy the super-fast section through the school itself which is always the highlight of the cyclists’ laps.

Ahead of the bike race is the Delta Dash Fun Run/Walk at 7am, ending at 8am. Entries for the fun walk/run take place on the day at the Delta Park School Sports Grounds.

The Endurance Challenge starts at 9am and finishes at 3pm with prize-giving afterwards. There’s a cash prize up for grabs for first place in all categories.

Cyclists who want to test their stamina can enter the solo category. For the more sociable, there is a three-man team category.

Delta Park School is a public school from Grade 1 to Grade 12 for pupils who experience barriers to learning, which prevent them from coping adequately in a mainstream environment. All proceeds from this annual event go to the school and are used for additional therapies, equipment, interactive white boards, computers and for assisting learners with sporting activities.
