The Springboks played the Proteas at the Mandela Legacy Cup cricket match on 5 December at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium.
The teams consisted of Proteas: HM Amla (capt), Q de Kock (wk), T Bavuma, F Behardien, DA Miller, R McLaren, WD Parnell, DW Steyn, K Rabada, RJ Peterson and LL Tsotsobe.
The Springboks: WA Alberts (capt), CR Liebenberg, V Matfield, H Pollard, AD James (wk), JL Serfontein, D de Allende, WJ le Roux, F Hougaard, DJ Vermeulen, BW du Plessis, C Hendricks and LJ Koen.
Springboks won by 6 wickets with the Proteas 181/11 and Springboks 182/5.
Half-way through the match Victor Matfield and Dale Steyn took a selfie to remember the occasion.
The Proteas invited legendary radio DJ Darren ‘Whackhead’ Simpson to play the final innings.
