Join the Douglasdale Fun Run

DOUGLASDALE – Come see who is fitter, the police, or the community?

The Douglasdale Community Policing Forum (CPF) reminds community members from Douglasdale and surrounds to come and join their annual Fun Run on 14 September.

The event will be held at Cooper College in Jukskei Park and there are fabulous prizes to be won, as well as food stalls and a kiddies corner for parents who want a safe place for their children to play while they go run and even furry, four-legged friends will be welcome.

“It’s the fourth year that our CPF has challenged Douglasdale Police to a 10km fun run challenge,” said and excited Douglasdale CPF chairperson, Charmaine van Rijswijk. “This year, it’s the police’s turn to win again, seeing as we’ve won twice already and we want to see if they can even out the score.”

The first race, the big one between community and police, will start at 8am sharp, so community members should make sure they get there bright and early. The second race will be a shorter 5km fun walk and for the finale, another 5km fun walk for pet lovers and their dogs.
