Boys gearing up for the rugby festival

RANDBURG - The Diggers Junior Rugby team is ready for their rugby season.

The Diggers Junior Club’s U13 team has been working hard preparing for the King Edwards School (KES) Rugby Festival to be held on 17 April.

“We started practicing three weeks ago for the season which starts in June. The KES rugby festival is a great way for us to get into the spirit of things for the season. I think this would give the boys some idea of what to expect in the season,” said chairman of the Diggers Junior Club, Sibonginkosi Moyo.

According to Moyo, the KES would be the first festival of the year in which junior teams from schools and sports clubs would be taking part in. “Some of the boys in the team are a part of their school’s U13 teams, they would play matches with their school and then play with us. It is often a challenge when this happens, but we always encourage them to put their school team first.”

Moyo pointed out that his boys have been preparing hard and will be going to the festival to win but also to have some fun.

“All the other teams should watch out, our boys have been working hard from day one to nail this. They are a dedicated bunch who love this sport, therefore they will give it their all,” warned Moyo.
