Give back with #Randburg60

What better way to be part of Randburg’s 60th anniversary than by immortalising your message in brick and supporting stray animals in the process.  As Randburg Sun, under our Caxton Cares banner, we would like to encourage our readers to donate a brick to the Randburg SPCA. It will cost you just R60 to have a brick with your name on it permanently placed at the Randburg SPCA. The proceeds will go to the running of the organisation.

I love Randburg because...

PATRICK JAMES KELLY: I love Randburg because it is central, with everything a person could need around you. Everything one could need is close by, it’s safe and made up of a tight-knit community.
FLORA SEEMA: I love Randburg because of the many jobs offered in the area. I used to live in Pretoria where I struggled to find jobs, in contrast to Randburg which offers a wealth of opportunities.
CHRIS SITHOLE: I grew up in Randburg and love the area because of its low crime rate, its quiet nature and I also like that I am able to work where I stay.
DAVE SEGOR: I love my local bowling club in Boskruin. And when you meet others from nearby clubs, you find that they are all friendly and their spirits are always high.

TARYN STEVEN: I love Randburg because the area is affordable, close to many amenities and the people who live here are young and happy.
DANIELLA WEBSTER: I love Randburg because I grew up here and the first 16 years of my life were in Blairgowrie. I remember just riding down the street on my bike and walking to local shops while stopping to pick mulberries off trees.
ERIKA WEBSTER: I love the fact that there are just so many trees and everywhere you look in the community there are trees. They say that Joburg is the biggest man-made forest and trees give things life. I also love the people of the community.
JENINE BORYAN: I love Randburg because it is affordable and close to other communities like Sandton and Rosebank. Blairgowrie is a small little community itself, and you keep on bumping into people who are always friendly. I also feel quite safe if I go on a walk or run. not feel threatened, and there’s nice little restaurants everywhere and great places to hang out at. Photo: Neo Phashe
LEBANG MATLAHADISHA: I grew up in a Randburg and looking at what they have managed to do with Randburg Square is great to see, there are new shops and people go there and it is safe. I knew it before it was renovated and now it’s developed. It is clean and I frequent there a lot.
LEIGH ROBINSON: I have lived in Randburg for 31 years, I love the vibrancy of the community and the fact that it has changed and become more multicultural and diverse. I love that Randburg really tries to provide for its people in a lot of different ways, from people at the top end of the economic spectrum and bottom. end.
LUWANDA NQOBO: I love Randburg because of the community we live in. We try and help the homeless and people raise funds for those who need it.
