2017 has finally arrived and I couldn’t be happier.
For many, last year was the toughest year in recent history. Times have been hard and many are looking forward to a new year filled with positivity, prosperity and good health.
I, for one, wish you all a year filled with love, smiles and sunshine. I wish you success in all your endeavours and laughter around every corner. This is our year and we are going to make it amazing.
I would also like to wish those responsible for the running of our great city well. To our mayor, Herman Mashaba, his MMCs in various departments and our ward councillors – we are well aware that running a city is nothing short of a mammoth task. This city is a great one filled with wonderful people who need you to be phenomenal this year. I hope that you will rise to the task. I hope that this year will be Joburg’s year and that when we look back in 365 days’ time, we see hard work that paid off in a clean, green, well-run city.
To my team – well done for getting through a tough 2016. You faced many setbacks and many challenges but pulled through by pulling together. Thank you for this. We are already in full swing, and I know that this year we are going from strength to strength. You guys are amazing and this is the year to really show our community what we can do.
