Solution needed for vagrant problem

Resident writes about vagrants

Sue Upton writes:

Over the years I have made many complaints to the Linden Police Station about the vagrants who have taken over the park, where they sleep, eat, ablute and fight. Our telephone calls to request a patrol car to keep the vagrants in check, seem to be largely ignored.

The smell of human faeces and urine up against the boundary wall is becoming overpowering and a health hazard. The noise at night is loud enough to force us to turn up the volume of our TVs.

A lasting solution must be found for these ‘trolleypreneurs’ who do a good job, and evidently earn some money as they can be seen buying bread, milk and quarts of beer at the shop and bottle store on Rabie Street.

I have suggested in a previous email that some part of the park bordering on Rouberto’s be turned into a shelter with water and toilets available. However, this will have to be monitored and kept under strict control to prevent a full-scale squatter camp.
