Respectfully, could the police not use a bit of foreward thinking and find out from the relevant bank who owns the card – return it to him, and heaven help him – being old could do with a bit of counselling?
The police have now got the culprits and they surely will repeat this crime time and time again, so surely they cannot just be set free??
They must be charged and the old man must be found.
Surely that is the job of the police.
Just to allow them to walk free is not the way to go.
There were witnesses, and the police chased and apprehended the culprits.
So the proof surely is that the now prisioners had in their possession the card belonging to someone else, which had just been stolen from him.
Where is the camera evidence?
I suppose however it is so much easier for the police just to turn a blind eye and not follow up a cut and dried case.
No wonder things in this country just go from bad to worse.
