EXPERT ADVICE: Herbs for the face- Coriander Face Mask

JOBURG – Claire Brown show how to mix and use Coriander as face mask.

Claire Brown writes:

Coriander is a really diverse little herb and can form the main ingredient in complexion perfecting masks, smoothing body oils, shampoos for sleek hair and woody perfumes, just to name a few.

Coriander is filled with free radical destroying antioxidants, complexion-friendly minerals and skin boosting vitamin C.

It’s also a potent anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti-fungal, disinfectant, detoxifier and anti-inflammatory and creates a soothing and

cooling feel for your skin.

So let’s put this super-herb to work in a beauty recipe you can make right at home.

My favourite mask:

Ingredients:

1 fresh red tomato

A handful of fresh green coriander leaves

And 2 tablespoons of rose water

Method:

Blend chopped tomatoes with coriander and rose water to make a pasty mixture.

For oily skin it can be a good idea to add lemon juice.

Now cleanse your face and apply this mask evenly all over your face and neck.

Leave the mask on for 20 minutes and let your skin soak up all the goodness from the coriander and tomatoes.

Rinse off your face with water to reveal your sparkling, gleaming and very clear skin.

With regular usage of this face pack, pimple scars reduce and vanish.

Other Coriander quick fixes:

Blackhead coriander treatment

It’s simple, mix 1 teaspoon each of coriander juice and lime juice and apply on all blackheads and leave for an

hour, then wash off with warm water.

Skin Smoothing Coriander Face Mask

Mix together 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1/4 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of chopped cucumber and 1 handful of fresh coriander. Apply this

mixture on your face and leave for 20 minutes then rinse off.

Acne Coriander Treatment

Add 1 teaspoon each of lemongrass, coriander and chamomile to 1 cup boiling water and let it cool for an hour.

Then blend until paste like. Apply to cleansed skin for 20 minutes and then wash with warm water. You can give a final splash of cold water for an extra refreshing feel.

Coriander & Egg White Face Lift

Blend a handful of fresh, rinsed coriander leaves, 2 egg whites and 1/2 cup uncooked oats until it reaches a thick,

paste-like consistency. Apply to a freshly cleansed face; leave for 15 minutes and then rinse off.

Enjoy your summer time fresh face.
