The Salvation Army Firlands Children’s Home in Linden would like to thank everyone who recently supported Firlands via their Mandela Day projects.

There were a host of individuals who donated food and treats for our children.

In particular we’d like to thank MultiChoice for their Mandela Day initiative which saw them undertake to paint our boundary wall and all our playground equipment, repair our children’s jungle gym and tree house.

In addition they provided a lovely meal for our children and staff and donated a huge quantity of non-perishable foods that MultiChoice staff had collected.

We’d also like to recognise Red Pepper Studio’s Mandela Day initiative where they also provided a meal for our children and spent time with our children having organised a variety of games.

We believe that both these companies’ social responsibility activities lived up to the expectation raised by Nelson Mandela and we are so grateful that they chose us to celebrate the legacy of Nelson Mandela.

Firlands does not take the community’s and various companies’ support for granted.

We rely heavily on the public’s support to assist us to care for the up to 60 children we are registered to care for.

While Mandela Day does help to draw attention to homes such as ours we value and appreciate the support we receive from the public throughout the year.

In this regard, we take this opportunity to remind everyone of our annual fête on Saturday 29 August at Firlands Children’s Home.

Thank you once again to all for your continued support of TSA Firlands Children’s Home.
