OPINION: Make your own moisturising cream

For beautiful and refined skin, try this simple home-made recipe. It absorbs easily, won’t leave any residue and is great for bruises and scarring.

Ingredients

  1. 1 tub of colourless and fragrance-free cream – Aqueous cream is ideal
  2. 2 tablespoons of cocao butter oil – it contains vitamins C, A and E for smoothing and locking moisture into the skin and assists in fading marks.
  3. 1 teaspoon of Argan oil – it is high in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants which aid in preventing ageing and revitalising and hydrating dull and dry skin.
  4. 1 teaspoon of olive oil – it is good source of Vitamin E and K, locks in moisture, prevents blackheads and promotes a beautiful appearance.
  5. 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil – it is an antioxidant that protects and repairs your skin, helping to rebuild collagen and reduces scarring.

Method

  1. Mix each oil into the cream before adding the next.
  2. Once you have added all your oils, tighten the lid of you container and shake well until no oil residue is visible.

After a warm shower or bath, dab your skin dry and apply the cream immediately while your skin is still warm. This aids absorption.

Apply the cream by rubbing it in a circular motion. Avoid your face.
