Northriding College boasts success at the recent World Robot Olympiad Provincials.

Northriding College boasts success at the recent World Robot Olympiad Provincials: Three pairs of learners earned podium finishes in their divisions.

The competition took place at Curro Aurora in Sundowner. It featured the explorer lite division for learners aged eight to 12 and the explorer prime division for learners aged 11 to 16.

Hlulani Nwaila and Tatum Pires win first place in the explorer prime division.

The results:

  • First place in Explorer Prime – Hlulani Nwaila and Tatum Pire
  • First place in Explorer Lite – Sean Ratshikuni and Chiedza Mabal
  • Second place in Explorer Lite – Zintsikelelo Magadla and Ethandwa Dubazana
Sean Ratshikuni and Chiedza Mabale earn first place in explorer lite.

According to its website, the olympiad ‘is an event incorporating science, technology, education and robotics which brings together young people from all over the world to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robotics competitions’.
