Sharonlea Primary School selects its leaders for the year

While the leaders will not sideline their own individuality, goals and dreams, they are encouraged to put others first.

Sharonlea Primary School has selected its 26 Grade 7 leaders for the year.

These learners include the head boy, head girl and their deputies.

“We see the leaders as not just ambassadors of the school but as role players in connecting the school and its community,” said leader coordinator and head of the English department Mel Naidoo.

“They are already taking responsibility and shining.”

She said the learners were tasked with finding opportunities to reach out to the community and develop a relationship with it.
Naidoo added this was in the spirit of ubuntu because the school recognised that one couldn’t exist alone, but a person existed because of others.

“While the individuality, goals and dreams of the learners are never sidelined, they will aim to put others first.”
