Grade 1s have a great time on their first day at Blairgowrie Primary

Head of the Grade 1s at Blairgowrie Primary School believes it will be a good year for everyone.

Grade 1 learners had all sorts to tell their parents about their first day of ‘big school’ on January 11.

When parents came to fetch their children at the Grade 1 block at Blairgowrie Primary School, many sat with their youngsters at tables under the shade to listen to them, or watched as they played on the jungle gyms with their new friends.

There was not an unhappy face in sight, and in fact the day was a tremendous success.

“We have five classes of Grade 1s this year and the day went very well with everyone settling in quickly,” said grade head Kathryn Govindasami.

“The parents were happy and they did not hang around too long in the morning. It looks like it will be a good year for everyone.”
