Hoërskool Randburg holds a stylish matric farewell dance

Willie Lindeque said that the sound quality was great, and the food was delicious, and there were plenty of spots for taking photos with friends. Overall, everyone had a wonderful time.

Even though it was freezing cold, it didn’t stop the stylish Hoërskool Randburg matric learners and their companions from enjoying the evening of their farewell to the fullest.

They enjoyed a breathtakingly beautiful venue, tasty food, music, and lots of fun at the photo corners, which contributed to the great success of the evening. The event was held at San Quentin at Prison Break Market with the theme of the matric farewell being: ‘Life is a work of art, make yours colourful’.

Santi van den Berg, the organiser, explained that they must have had the coldest day of the year for the event but that did not prevent the matrics from enjoying the evening.

“After bracing themselves against the cold on the red carpet (which was live streamed for family and friends who were too far away to attend), they had mocktails and hors d’oeuvres at Alcatraz where a fireplace warmed them up. We also had exclusive use of Dreambox, where they could take photos in the playful, quirky, and interactive booths.”

She added that after the formalities and dinner, the dancefloor buzzed until midnight. “It truly was an unforgettable, magical, fun night. We had to ask them to leave.”

Sharing her experience, the school’s head girl, Elaine Wijnbeek, said that the evening was indeed a colourful masterpiece.

“The venue was adorned with vibrant candles and flowers. The Dreambox photobooth area was original and provided a lot of enjoyment. The ice cream dessert was festive, even though it was quite cold that night. The matriculants were dressed in the most beautiful dresses (and suits). It was an evening I will remember forever.”

Headboy Willie Lindeque said the farewell was a tremendous success and everything within the control of the organizing parents and teachers was perfect. “The sound quality was great, the food was delicious, and there were plenty of spots for taking photos with friends. Overall, everyone had a wonderful time.”
