City Power disconnects Randpark View and Lifestyle for outstanding debts

City Power has disconnected electricity to Randpark View and the Lifestyle in Randpark due to unpaid bills totaling over R13m, as part of a broader effort to recover R36.2m owed by 12 defaulting customers in the area. The Randburg SDC, meanwhile, faces a staggering R650m in outstanding debts.

In a bold move to tackle escalating debts, City Power has disconnected the electricity supply to Randpark View and the Lifestyle establishment in Randpark, who owe a combined total of over R13m to the entity. Randpark View has accrued a debt of R4.3m, while the Lifestyle owes R9m.

City Power officials stated that the disconnections are part of a larger strategy to ensure effective revenue collection and restore financial stability. “We are committed to recovering outstanding debts to sustain our services and improve infrastructure for all residents,” a spokesperson said.
