Cooper College holds its first-ever matric dance

The matric learners are given 'survival kits' to succeed in life.

Cooper College celebrated its first-ever matric dance on September 2.

The matriculants embraced the opportunity to celebrate this occasion in style.

With the theme, black tie, learners dazzled in their exquisite outfits.

To encourage them and prepare them for life’s challenges ahead, the high school deputy head, Claire Venter, handed each student a survival kit for life.

The kit contained various items as reminders to leave a mark wherever they go; that they are loved; that they are valuable; to shine; that there are people always cheering them on; that they are smart; that it is okay to make a mistake; to stick with it; to gather their wits; to reach for the sky and to stretch themselves beyond their limits.

The executive head of Cooper College, Hesna Muller addressed the Class of 2022.

“I wish you all the strength to face any challenge with confidence, along with the wisdom to choose your battles carefully,” she said.
