Suspects arrested for motorcycle theft in Ferndale

In another incident, suspects broke into a home through a window left open for pets.

Randburg police are urging the community to be vigilant following incidents of housebreaking and theft of motor vehicles in the precinct.

The spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said in one incident the suspects gained entry through an open kitchen window.

“The window was allegedly left for the pets to go in and out,” he explained.

“We understand that it is summertime and it will be hot inside our houses but we are appealing to our residents to make sure that the doors and windows are properly closed and locked when not at home or when going to sleep to avoid easy access into our properties.”

Three suspects were arrested by police at about 21:00 on September 9 for theft of motor vehicles.

They had allegedly stolen motorcycles in Ferndale, and will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court to be formally charged.
