Man (24) found dead in veld in Cosmo City
The body of a 24-year-old man was discovered in the veld near Boundary Road with a stab wound in his neck.
Honeydew police are investigating another murder in Cosmo City.
A man’s body was discovered in an open veld near Boundary Road and Eritrea Street at 19:30 on August 31.
“The complainant was on duty when he was called to the scene by [another man],” explained Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan.
“He pointed out a male laying in the bush. The person later became known as Mokolo Olobogang aged 24. The deceased was laying on his stomach. He had a deep cut [in] his [throat].”
He was declared dead by paramedics.
“It is alleged that he was part of a group of three persons who [were] drinking alcohol. A flight broke out and he was stabbed in his neck by an unknown person. A second victim… aged 26 was taken to hospital in a serious condition.”
Still, Muthan said the motive for the assault is unknown and the investigation continues.
This follows the murder of Ntebeng Manzi (33), who was found dead in her home, with an open wound in her neck, in July.
There was no sign of entry and police have yet to make any arrests.
A man, Simon Kekana. was also shot and killed outside his Cosmo City home in April.
