St Stithians Girls’ College’s first water polo team emerged victorious at the prestigious National Aquatics Festival, held at Clarendon High School in East London. The team showcased exceptional skill and determination, securing the gold medal in a hard-fought tournament against top schools from across the country.

The Saints dominated the pool stages, remaining undefeated throughout the group phase. Their impressive form carried into the semi-finals, where they faced the tournament hosts, Clarendon High School. The thrilling encounter saw both teams put on an outstanding display of skill and resilience, but St Stithians edged out the victory with a nail-biting 8–7 win.

With their sights set on the championship, the Saints advanced to the final, where they went head-to-head with Durban Girls’ College. The match was a true test of endurance and teamwork, with St Stithians delivering a commanding performance. Their defensive strength and offensive precision led to a 6–3 victory, securing their place at the top of the podium.

This victory marks a significant achievement for the team, as it is their first title under the new head of water polo, Megan Sileno, who joined St Stithians Girls’ College at the start of the year.
