King’s School Robin Hills holds a successful Spring Day Festival
Jaydon Jeffries said the little ones running around with face paint, while older learners running stalls and parents catching up was definitely the highlight of the school year.
Kings School Robin Hills’ grounds were filled with buzz as parents, teachers, and learners enjoyed the annual Spring Day Festival.

The day started with the Grade 7–9 learners setting up their stalls. Learners gathered in the school auditorium for a family assembly where primary school learners performed a variety of musical items as part of the family day. Learners then made their way onto the top field where a host of vendors sold delicious food and drinks.
The highlights of the day were the huge inflatables that were available to learners to play on during the day, as well as the game stalls, prize stall, book nook, and tea garden, which was a perfect escape for people who wanted a break from all the excitement.
This year’s theme was the seven continents, in honour of the Olympics. The high school learners facilitated a family fun day embodying the values of the school while doing fundraising.
The Grade 7–9 learners hosted and ran carnival style themed game stalls for learners to participate in fun and skills driven games. Grade 10 and 11 learners served their school community on the day, as well in a variety of areas. All learners, and their families throughout the school, contributed through donations and prizes to make the day a success.

Jaydon Jeffries, of the marketing team, explained the day was important to all the learners, but especially those in grades 7–9.
“By running a stall, they learn entrepreneurial and business skills as well as the power of working together. Learners not only learn servanthood by serving in different events held on the day but also earn marks from different activities across subjects to merge the curriculum with the development of skills while having fun.”
She added that the stakes are often even higher as the winners not only raise a lot of money for the school but also get bragging rights and a treat from the school.
From the turnout, it was clear that everyone had a blast and left with some awesome prizes.
“Kids from various areas visited the different stalls and enjoyed delicious food. There were many food stalls to choose from, but the chip and dip was definitely the crowd favourite. All in all, it was a fantastic day and another incredible event.”
