“When I was a young girl in Grade 8, I could not go to school because of financial constraints so I sat at home for three weeks. That was a very challenging time for me because as a teenager all you have is school.
“Then I realised through my pain and challenges that other young girls are being kept away from school for various reasons and that’s what led to the start of the Debbie De Foundation. Our core function is to ensure that children never miss a day at school.”

Mogale’s father spoke shortly after the ribbon cutting was done, expressing gratitude for his daughter’s achievements and reflecting on the support he provided despite his unemployment at the time. He shared, “This is how we are going to change the world; ours is to make sure that we support those who have the vision. I always tell her that life is like a tree, the root of a tree makes sure that the leaves are green but what goes into the root sometimes it’s even poison.”
