Fun, fitness, and fundraising at Blairgowrie Primary’s fun walk

Blairgowrie Primary School invites the community to a fun-filled 4km and 8km walk on September 14 to promote fitness and raise funds.

Blairgowrie Primary School, in partnership with the Randburg Harriers Running Club, invites the community to join their annual fun walk on Saturday, September 14. This family-friendly event offers two walking routes of 4km and 8km, making it perfect for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Tickets are available on Quicket under ‘BPS Fun Walk’ and are open to everyone. As the school’s PTA’s biggest fundraiser for the year, the event aims to attract at least 1 000 participants. The walk is an opportunity to enjoy the peaceful, leafy streets of Blairgowrie while supporting a great cause.

The walk will conclude at Blairgowrie Primary’s Standard Drive entrance, where participants will be welcomed to a vibrant market. The market will feature a variety of food and drink stalls, games, and fun activities, creating a wholesome community atmosphere.

The funds raised from the fun walk will go towards improving the school’s sports facilities. Blairgowrie Primary places a strong emphasis on the value of team sports, recognising the lessons they teach beyond physical fitness. By participating in sports, children learn important life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and how to handle both winning and losing.

This ethos is embodied in the fun walk, which not only promotes health and fitness but also fosters a sense of community and personal growth. Teachers and coaches at the school play a crucial role in helping students develop these traits, shaping character both on and off the field.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 14. Registration will start at 07:00 and the walk will start at 08:00

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to get active, have fun, and support the Blairgowrie community.
