From community clean-ups to helping and assisting old age homes during tough times and contractors on the ground fixing cables or water pipes, Nikki Belt is always available to the community of Bromhof and its surroundings.
Even her hobbies are deeply rooted in her love for people and community. She adores organising and participating in local events that bring the community together, whether it’s a community clean-up, a charity drive, or just a simple neighbourhood gathering.
She explained that she thrives on connecting with people, sharing stories, and spreading positivity. Crafting motivational posts and sharing them with her friends and followers has also become a cherished part of her routine.

“There’s nothing like the joy of knowing you’ve brightened someone’s day,” she said.
Her life has been marked by significant health challenges that tested her resilience. Battling cervical cancer, bladder cancer and a rare pancreatic tumour left her bedridden and drained.
“There were days when getting out of bed felt impossible, but I drew strength from the love and support of my community. Their encouragement and my determination to keep fighting brought me through. Now, being in remission feels like a miraculous gift, and it has fuelled my passion to give back even more to those around me.
“With every setback, I found a reason to push forward – whether it was the thought of a community event I wanted to attend or a simple desire to see my friends smile again. These experiences taught me the true meaning of strength and the power of community support.”

Belt is one of the founders of the Community Heroes group is active and tackling almost all the issues around Bromhof, Boksruin and surrounding areas.
“I have a special knack for understanding what people need and finding ways to bring us all together to meet those needs. Whether through heartfelt conversations, organising events or simply offering a shoulder to lean on, I strive to make everyone feel valued and loved.”
She hopes to inspire others to see their potential and to foster a deep sense of belonging and unity within their communities by working closely with municipal services and community members.
“I aim to create a safer, more secure environment for everyone. My goal is to lead by example, showing that love, respect, and kindness can truly transform lives. I want to be a beacon of hope and motivation, helping others to see that they too can make a difference. Together, we can build a community that not only thrives but also sets an example for others to follow.”

Whether it’s a neighbourhood beautification project, a local charity event, or helping to promote a friend’s small business, she finds immense joy in these activities.
“Seeing our community come alive with shared purpose and enthusiasm is incredibly fulfilling. It’s these moments of togetherness that make all the hard work worthwhile. We come from diverse backgrounds, yet there’s a beautiful harmony in how we support each other. The kindness and generosity I witness daily inspire me to keep pushing forward.”
