Matsatsantsa gave everything they had to get the opener, but Randburg goalkeeper and captain Colby Sinclair made some important saves to keep his lads in the game.

The home side gathered themselves and gained their confidence back. They used their sides to cause trouble and run behind the SuperSports defence. Ndumiso Mgijima was causing all sort of trouble keeping the visitor’s defence on their toes.

Randburg FC’s Sphamandla Nkosi broke the dead lock and gave his team a 1—0 lead just before half time.

The visitors came back hungrier in the second stanza. They continued to dominate the possession and kept the home side in their half. Brondon Reynard broke the home fans hearts and cancelled Randburg’s lead with tap in goal that left Sinclair helpless (1—1).

The game started to open with both teams creating opportunities. Randburg had two big chances to take their lead back, but Nkosi and Keenan Schofield could not convert.

Manelisi Mazibuko stole the show and scored the decider that made a huge difference in the contest. Matsatsantsa took all the three points in a hard-fought victory.

Tumelo Ndaba, SuperSport United coach praised his players for coming back from behind and winning the match.

“It was a good game, we dominated the game and the boys played very well. They kept the ball and rotated like we wanted. It is not easy to play here so the boys were nervous. Credit to them they have been consistent with their performances.”

He added that it was a tough grudge game as some of the players in the Randburg teams were once on the SuperSports books.
