Spark Cresta takes a stand against bullying

The Linden SAPS joined the school's anti-bullying campaign to teach the learners, teachers and parents on how to tackle bullying

Spark Cresta took a stand against bullying in the Fontainebleau community by marching around the school premises on February 2.

The day kicked off with a Sparks Fly session where speeches and stories of bullying were shared. The Linden South African Police Service (SAPS) joined the event, playing an important role in educating scholars, staff and parents about bullying and escorting the school throughout the march.

The purpose of the anti-bullying campaign is to create awareness about bullying and help children and youth in the community understand the different forms of bullying and abuse they need to be aware of, to be able to tackle online (cyber) and face-to-face bullying.

“This initiative is a reminder to stakeholders, scholars, parents, and the community at large that Spark Cresta does not condone and will not tolerate any form of bullying. We want to assure our parents that their scholars are in safe hands, as we seek to live by our core values of kindness and integrity throughout the year,” said Job Bonsu, principal of the school.
