Fire victims in Kya Sand receive much-needed support

United Dream Rivers Services NPC provided clothing assistance to the less fortunate in Kya Sand following the fire that destroyed 19 homes

United Dream Rivers Services NPC (UDRS) continues to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in Kya Sand informal settlement.

They recently donated clothes for both children and adults of 19 families that were affected by fire in December 2023. The fire that broke out left many people homeless and without any belongings. UDRS, with the help of local businesses, reached outto the affected families.

We are aiming to help more informal settlements in Randburg and other townships. With the support of government and contributions from private entrepreneurs that form a big part of employment in our country through social responsibility, we will achieve more.”

Mtimkulu urges companies and individuals to participate in supporting the initiatives.

UDRS once again shines a light on the people of Kya Sands. They kept the promise they made to the families who they will assist with whatever ever they can, whenever they could.

The NPC assisted 150 families with 150 loaves of fresh-baked bread. Speaking to the Randburg Sun, Mtimkhulu confirmed that they will keep donating and running feeding schemes in the community of Kya Sand.

“We are here around the people, we know their day-to-day struggles. We help where we can, and we believe one loaf of bread can make a huge difference in these homes.

“We now know that many kids will have something to eat this morning and that is good enough for us,” concluded Mtimkhulu.
