Rand Park high top achiever scores 100% in maths and 8 distinctions

Principal Alan Wilke said he is very proud of the matrics and the teachers that supported them.

Rand Park High School buzzed with excitement on Friday morning as learners exchanged smiles and congratulations.

Top achiever twins Kelly and Thomas Anderssen have 15 distinctions between them.

The school received a 99% matric pass rate and 300 distinctions.

Kiera and Logan Gibbons are all smiles after receiving their results.

Thomas Anderssen emerged as the top achiever, securing an impressive eight distinctions, including 100% in mathematics. “I am extremely happy with my results. I plan on studying medicine at Wits.’’

Twins Oluchi and Chioma Olebuike plan on persuing IT.

Thomas went on to share advice with the class of 2024. “My advice to the matrics is to do as many past papers as you can and try to enjoy it because it will be over before you know it.”

A group of girls show their radiant similes of success on this memorable day.

His twin sister, Kelly Anderssen, also excelled with seven distinctions, adding to the family’s celebration of academic success. “I feel like it is difficult to get distinctions in matric so I am thrilled with my results. This year I plan on studying accounting science at the University of Pretoria.”

Mackinnon Wright and Aimee Martins celebrate the year of growth and determination.

The school witnessed another remarkable achievement with another pair of matriculating twins, Oluchi and Chioma Olebuike, who are both set to embark on their journey into the world of Information Technology.

Geordan Harris, Nicolas Correa Mendes and Taylor Page were some of the first to collect their results.

The principal, Alan Wilke expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the matric class and said “We are very proud of the matrics and the teachers that supported them. We are particularly impressed by our high achievers and delighted with the quality of our passes. We are sure our children will go on to do well at tertiary level.”
