Teachers and parents at The King’s School Robin Hills were overjoyed as their 2023 matriculants took their final exam.
Every learner was applauded by the teachers and parents who patiently waited as they came out to ring the bell outside.
Learners were leaving messages on each other’s shirts, wishing each other the best.
Teacher Justin Swallow explained that he feels proud and privileged to have been able to teach this class of matrics.
“They have really grown and shown how they can rise to any challenge and I can’t wait to see what they are going to do in their futures. Now the feeling is bitter-sweet. I loved teaching them; they have been amazing with their thoughts, feelings, opinions and views on the world so I’m sad to see them go, but also proud to know that they are going to make a difference in the world.”
The learners also left their shoes to be donated to the less fortunate.
Learner Siyabulela Khulumba said he is pretty excited for the next chapter and he looks forward to it.
“I feel happy that we are finally here and we can now look forward to other dreams and hopefully I’ll get the marks I need to enrol at Wits next year. ”
