Ladies organisation knit bears for CPF

Linden CPF met with the Lente organisation and got handmade teddies to distribute to the less fortunate

Linden-based Lente organisation invited Linden CPF to the meeting held at Fontainebleau Community Church to receive 60 knitted bears for their trauma unit to distribute where needed.

The bears were knitted by members of Lente organisation. CPF was represented by Annelize Tichauer, Bets van Jaarsveld and Warrant Officer Kotzé.

Tichauer and Jaarsveld gave an informative talk about the critically important work done by the victim support team. Members approached the team for further information during the refreshments break.

Lente is a ladies’ organisation which was established for the upliftment of women and children.

The members gather once a month to learn new skills and speakers impart new knowledge about various relevant topics. It is a safe meeting place where women can build friendships and widen their field of knowledge.

Margaret Peters Lente chairlady, said that their priority is to focus on charity work for women and children. “We are actively involved, we support the Gerald Fitzpatrick House, we collect and distribute sanitary towels to where they are needed, we knitted 60 teddy bears for Linden CPF for their trauma bags, each year Lente members fill 15 Santa Shoe Boxes and so the list goes on.”

She added that this gives women the opportunity to express themselves and to build their self-confidence.

“We strive to make a difference in our community. We are busy organizing a Christmas market on October 28 at the Fontainebleau Community Church where local vendors will have an opportunity to sell their homemade articles.”
