It was not your typical Saturday at Blairgowrie Primary School (BPS) on August 26 when the field was covered in every imaginable inflatable, and the quad was filled with the smells of every treat imaginable.
The school hosted a successful carnival, the biggest PTA fundraiser of the year, which saw hundreds of children and their families descend on the school’s playground.
Children and some brave parents enjoyed a mechanical bull, a zip line, a Ferris wheel, and every inflatable possible. In the school’s quad, sweet treats, breakfast buns, hotdogs, samosas and an array of other food items kept energy levels up, while the white elephant stall in the hall was a massive success.
The children seemed to particularly enjoy the haunted tunnel, but perhaps not as much as the teachers manning it. Children entered the dark space, and teachers had the opportunity to scare them, which seemed to go down well. Some children walked out looking a little worse for wear while others put on brave, smiling faces.
School principal, Charmaine Vartharajaloo thanked the team involved in the school’s newsletter. “Thank you to our BPS family who came to support the carnival. The fun atmosphere and laughter everywhere were awesome. I appreciated the hard work that our parents and staff put in,” she said.
