Velocity FA wiped the floor with Royals

Velocity coach says they will work on finishing more of their chances and winning the ball quickly when they lose it.

Velocity Football Academy dominated Golden City Royals at Ferndale High School with terrific football, several goals, and sheer determination.

The hosts began the day with a shaky and difficult 3–3 draw with their U13s. The U15s came out firing and hammered the visitors 9–1 to maintain their lead in the Rand Central Local Football Association (RCLFA) log standing.

Velocity U13 drew 3–3 against Golden City Royals at Ferndale High School.

The U17s did not drop the ball either as they defeated Royals 4–2 to wrap up the day.

The host team’s coach, Aidan de Smidt, said the games were excellent and that his squads played amazing football and came prepared to win.

“We played exceptionally well, with good communication and keeping the ball in possession, especially at the back. We had been inconsistent not winning in the last three games, so we’ve been working on bringing confidence to the whole team.”

He added that they have been working on the boys’ mentality, and it looks like it is slowly paying off.

“The boys worked hard – they deserved to win. The consistency is getting back and we are looking forward to the next game.”

Velocity will attempt to build on this success by collecting as many points as possible across all divisions on the second leg of RCLFA

“Overall the teams are getting better and better – our U13s especially – this is their first time playing the league and they are getting better; the U15s and U17s are committed and training well,” added Smidt.
