Bromhof author wins prestigious award

Nthabiseng Sethoga says this award is a great encouragement for her to continue to dream and never lose hope

Nthabiseng Sethoga, a Bromhof-based author, obtained the 6th AfriCan Honoree 2023 Award for her book, My Anchor.

The book was launched and published in 2022. It addresses challenges in the workplace, finances and health.

Sethoga said the purpose of the book is to give hope to those who have lost it. To encourage individuals who believe life’s challenges are too great for them. To inspire individuals not to give up.

“In the book I share the story of my life – challenges of growing up without a father, overcoming depression, healing from three miscarriages and others. To remind people that God is full of love and grace.”

Anthea Thyseen presents and honours authors with the award each year on her birthday, July 31.

“I am humbled and honoured to have been recognised with 156 other authors. I had faith in my heart that people will buy the book. And the feedback I am getting is humbling and encouraging. With the award, I never thought the testimony and the story of my life will get an award. I am in awe.”

The award is a motivation for Sethoga to write more. She is currently busy with her second book which will be announced and launched soon.

“Thank you to all the women in my life – my mother and younger sister, Rhema’s lady pastors, and my mentors who are authors, editors, and publishers,” she said in her dedication to Women’s Month.

My Anchor is available on Amazon, and Sethoga also sells copies.
