Mutembo Nsofu loves to sing, dance and play musical instruments

Mutembo Nsofu speaks about acting, singing and playing multple musical instruments.

Mutembo Nsofu writes:

I played Shelley Uptown (originally Sandy Olsson) in the recent major production at Rand Park High School called Summer of Love.

It was a great experience to dive into her character and to truly discover who she is and it has truly shown how much I enjoy acting as her.

Summer of Love was derived from the iconic and famous movie, Grease, but it had modern twists such as the music we introduced, and the fact that our cast was extremely diverse.

I started in the school’s major production band (I played guitar) but I started playing/being involved in music when I was about nine years old. My parents motivated me to pursue multiple instruments which has equipped me to be able to play five instruments.

Although I am not drawn to pursuing a music career, I enjoy playing in my church’s worship team, in which I can continue using my talent and worship God.

A major production is a great opportunity to let your talents run wild, where one can truly exercise their talents and learn new ones. I learnt how to play the ukelele within three days for the 2022 production, which has equipped me with another skill to grow and improve.
