Tylor bags a hat-trick against Panorama

Colin Fritz said that emotions always fly high when they play Panorama from fans, players and coaches and it is always tough

A late penalty guaranteed that all three points remained at home as Old Parks Ladies played Panorama FC Ladies in a nine-goal thriller.

Spectators were treated to a thrilling game full of big goals as the home team narrowly won 5-4 to reclaim first place in the Rand Central Football Association (RCFA) Ladies division 1 league standings.

The hosts did not give the guests enough time to adjust to the game. They put the visitors under pressure, forcing them to make mistakes and lose the ball cheaply. Old Parks was in command, and Sonia Oha opened the scoring to put the home side up 1-0. The visitors appeared to be out of the game when Old Parks scored two massive goals in a space of five minutes by Taylor Fritz and Nazneen Khan to make it 3-0 in the first half.

The visitors did not go down quietly. Dominique Branders caught the home team defence off guard right before halftime, giving her team hope (3-1).

Panorama came back a different-looking side in the second. They took the game to the host and applied more and more pressure.

Panorama FC coach Jacky Mtshali explained that they started very slow he told his team to switch on and get their heads in the game. “Second half we applied more pressure and we tried to finished the chances we created and we were in control.”

Forward Ontantile Moloi punished the home team’s defence and shortly made it 3-2. Moloi’s goal was all the motivation Panorama needed. They started to play higher on Old Park half.

The home side managed to find gaps and Fritz second goal of the day made it 4-2 gave them the breathing space they desperately needed.

More mistakes at the back and the visitors struck again with a well-taken freekick by Onalarona Rasenvalo (4-3). Old Park Ladies struggled to clear their lines and Branders equalised (4-4) and silenced the home team crowd.

The home team began to press higher and higher in the hopes of scoring. Old Parks were granted a penalty in the dying minutes when a Panorama defender handled the ball inside the box.

Tylor Fritz made no mistake as she puts one past the visitor’s keeper (5-4) for the third time and secured all points for Old Parks Ladies.

Old Park coach Colin Fritz said that they had a good start and they let them back in the game.

“This game means a lot for the girls. Tough as always, it’s tough to play Panorama so we are happy to get the win. We should have buried the game in the first half so going we need to make sure that we kill the games going forward.”
