Charity foundation in Zandspruit asks for donations of blankets and clothes

The foundation was established by young men and women who want to see a big change in their community.

The Five Tigers Foundation in Zandspruit is appealing to the public to donate clothes and blankets that they can distribute to needy families during the wintertime.

The charity group was established in 2019, by a group of colleagues who saw a need to assist the area’s most needy families by donating food parcels, sanitary towels, blankets, and other necessities.

“Our main focus is on assisting the poor,” said Thabo Khoza, the event’s organiser.

According to Khoza, the foundation also holds back-to-school programmes to raise awareness about sending children to school, as well as assisting them in registering and giving them school uniforms and stationery.

All they want to see is smiles on the faces of the disadvantaged people in their area.

“Such events help the community to understand and value the importance of children going to school,” he added.

The charity group recently supplied veggies to the family of a deceased person that was in need, and the donation of clothes and blankets is in response to recent fires in the area.

“We are asking everyone to donate so that we can put a smile on the faces of those who are less fortunate,” said another member, Sharon Baijang.

“The donation will greatly benefit them this winter because some can’t even afford to buy themselves clothes.”

Baijang highlighted that anyone interested in donating can call her at 083 758 8511 or Thabo Khoza at 074 489 1313.
