Clean-up operation in Randpark Ridge

Taking care of the surroundings is essential for the well-being of both homes and the community.

In an effort to clean up the streets, EC Security joins forces with the Randpark Ridge Village Association (RRVA).

The clean-up operation took place on June 21, along Rabie Street, with a focus on the walkway that connects Rabie Street and Essenhout Drive.

According to Travis Sloan, EC Security spokesperson, “The operation was aimed at demonstrating our shared commitment to the community and sending a clear message to anyone with malicious intent.”

“The roads were in good condition,” Sloan continued. “But, there was a significant amount of litter and signs of people without permanent shelter sleeping along Rabie Street, and this has contributed to the unsightly appearance of the area.”

The Randpark Ridge Village Association’s chairman, Quinton Robbertze, said clean-up efforts are still ongoing. “We put a lot of love and pride into our neighborhood, not only aesthetically but also from a security perspective.”

Throughout the operation, teamwork was demonstrated. “It was a great way to serve our community and surrounding areas at a time when safety is a concern than to collaborate and clean a pathway that has gained some notoriety in the past, but is moving back to being a safer place with the revised security plan and requests to EC from the RRVA,” Robbertze explained.

The operation was a success, and the two organisations intend to participate in clean-up efforts at least once a month to preserve cleanliness in and around neighboring areas.
