Zandspruit DJ to release his first seven-track EP

Local DJ from Johannesburg North is planning to release an amapiano EP.

Sello Raphala, aka Xaviour SA writes:

I am an amapiano DJ from Zandspruit but originally from Limpopo, at Ga-Matlala in Makobe village.

I am madly in love with music. I am 22 years old and started to love music when I was in Grade 6.

Seeing local artists play impressed me, and I told myself that if they could do it, so could I.

At the age of 12, I was already deejaying, and I can say that my father, who used to buy CDs and play various genres, also influenced me.

My love for music grew. I decided to pursue music full-time after matriculating in 2017.

I’ve had challenges along the way, just like any other industry.

The difficulties I’ve encountered include getting to play at venues where I’ve been booked but not being paid, or even being paid less money than we both negotiated. Despite this, my love of music keeps me going.

Besides being a DJ, I also host events in my neighborhood. I have a concept called Easter Magicals, in which I hold events every April to bring together the community using music and give other local artists a platform to showcase their talent.

I’ve released 15 songs and am currently working on an amapiano EP of seven songs which I want to release in September of this year.

My goal is to be popular and to be able to play all around the world.
