Rand Park High School learner has always been passionate about acting

Wandile Shezi speaks about his passion for acting, dancing and singing.

Wandile Shezi writes:

I recently acted in Rand Park High School’s major production called Summer of Love, which is based on the classic movie, Grease. I played as Axel, known as Kennedy in the original.

This production was unique, because we were a family and we were all equal and talented in our own way. Everyone worked together and always wanted to make the production beautiful. Everyone brought their own personal touch to the show.

I have always had a passion for music and performance. It started when I was little; I would always perform in front of my parents, and they would always support me in many ways. Watching movies also inspires me to act. 1 would always imagine myself in one of the movies, because that’s where 1 belong with the singing and dancing. I followed Micheal Jackson as he is my idol. That’s how my passion started.

I would like to take it far and go to Hollywood in America, to act as one of my favourite superhero characters and join my idols.

To young people thinking of acting or joining a major production crew, I would say that they will enjoy it. If you have talent and want to show/embrace it, join the major production. It will help you a lot and people that have talent and love acting and dancing shouldn’t he afraid of embracing their talent.

If anyone tells you that you can’t do anything, prove to them that you can do it. No one should take you down for who you are. No one can take away your gift.
