Trinityhouse Prep hosts the 18th Rugby Festival

Trinityhouse Prep started hosting the festival in 2022 and they missed some of the years because of Covid and also by celebrating the event in other schools.

The 18th National U13 Rugby Festival at Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge Preparatory School featured the best and most thrilling preparatory school rugby.

Some of the best schools in athletics attended the three-day festival. Highbury Prep, Merchiston Prep, Laerskool Fairland, Grey College Bloemfontein, Westville Senior Prep, King Edward Prep, and Durban Prep High School all took part and gave it their all for the spectators. Each team played a game during the three days.

Trinityhouse head of rugby Dillon Bakos noted that although planning for the event was challenging, they made plans and overcame all obstacles.

“We wouldn’t be able to have this festival if the touring teams never came through. Also the parents getting involved to hosting and inviting two, four and some, six boys into their homes for the duration of the festival. If it wasn’t for them providing the homes for these boys we wouldn’t be having this event.”

He added that sharing the field with top schools like Durban Prep and Grey College, who are well-known in the rugby scene, meant a lot to their players.

“It was an amazing experience for the kids playing against these top schools and we as organisers try and make it as best as possible for them.”
