Randburg Bowls Club has been Tammy Hugo’s bowling club of choice for several years.
She may not live that close, being in Radiokop, but Hugo spends every weekend at the club so she is part of the furniture at the Boskruin venue.
“It’s where my son Liam is welcomed and that is the main thing,” Hugo said of her six-year-old boy.
“He plays in the Johannesburg Bowls Association U15 team and he loves the game, just like me. I manage that team so I take them to all their tournaments.”
Hugo described the Randburg Bowls Club as one with social and close people who encouraged the youth to take up the sport.
“Johannesburg Bowls Association has many of its players coming from Randburg Bowls Club so we are doing well, always growing and promoting the sport of bowls.”
This is important for Hugo, as she enjoys seeing the young team she manages always growing and increasing in its pool of talent.
