School’s top achiever will study data engineering with a view to learning how to solve problems in the country

Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge top matric achiever in 2022 and deputy head girl, Nina Swart comments:

Last year was an amazing year for me, not just because I got 10 distinctions.

After the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown everything reopened.

For our grade group to go through the effects the pandemic had on studies, sports, and cultural activities, we were very glad it all opened up again in our matric year.

It gave us a lot of freedom and confidence.

This year I will be doing a BA in data engineering at Stellenbosch University.

Engineers are problem solvers, and South Africa has a lot of problems at the moment.

So, there is a great need for engineers and youth who will be brave and tackle the issues we have right now.

After my BA, I do want to do a postgraduate overseas to upskill myself.

When that is over, I plan to come back to SA and help solve our problems.
