Linden Police Stations communication officer Sergeant Takalani Sibiya urges the community to be cautious after three cars were reported stolen in schools.

Linden police warn the community about the theft of motor vehicles in the area.

Three vehicles were stolen during events on January 14 between 07:00 and 08:00 at Linden High School and Louw Geldenhuys Primary School.

The three stolen vehicles were a white Toyota Fortuner, a grey Toyota Fortuner and a white Toyota Hilux.

Linden Police Station communication officer Sergeant Takalani Sibiya said a complainant alleged that at about 07:15 he parked his car, a white Toyota Fortuner, outside in the parking area at Linden High School and all the doors and windows had been properly locked and closed. When he came back he discovered that the vehicle had been stolen.
“On that same day, another complainant alleged that at about 08:00 he parked his vehicle, a grey Toyota Fortuner, on the pavement outside Linden High School to attend a school event. At about 13:15 he came out from the school event and the car had been stolen.”

In the other incident, Sibiya added, “The complainant alleged that his car was parked outside Louw Geldenhuys Primary School on January 14 and he went inside the school premises for an event… at 11:10 he returned to find his vehicle stolen.”
Linden police advised the community to be more careful where they parked their cars at schools because that’s where they were being targeted.
