Unpopular youth opinion: young people are lazy and entitled

Work ethic is lacking in many young people these days, even though they have it easier than their parents did.

Curro Aurora matriculant, Reeya Thangamuthu comments:

Getting a job in South Africa is so hard at the moment and it does not help that most people our age are entitled and unwilling to work hard.

My friends and I are all looking at studying or working at the moment now that we have finished matric.

It is a difficult time for people who have not found what they want to do or cannot do what they want to do for various reasons.

Most jobs say they want so many years of experience and are unwilling to give people straight out of school a chance.

So, unless you have connections, it is very difficult.

But young people so often are just lazy and procrastinate.

They sit on their phones doing other things and just expect good jobs to come their way.

Even though many of us have it easier than our parents did, our parents worked hard to achieve what they did.
